Artist Profile

Sandra E. Broomfield is a native of the District of Columbia. She earned an Associates degree in Advertising Design and a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art, from the University of the District of Columbia.  She has earned a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with course work in Art Therapy at Bowie State University.  Sandra's work is inspired by life experiences, folktales, along with family stories from Jamaica and America.  Her work has been shown in local galleries, private collections,Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the National Women's Museum of Art, along with traveling exhibitions nationally and internationally.  Her interest focuses on our nation's youth and those intrested in art.  She seeks to work in programs based in the community.  Her goal is to use art as an educational and therapeutic tool.
