Mary Ann is a native born resident of Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Originally she began her art career in the mid '70's, going to night school in San Francisco. Wanting to continue her education on a full-time basis she moved back East to study at the MD School of Art and Design, now a part of Mont. College. She has completed a year certificate program. Recognizing the expense of being a student, she had to post-pone her dream of studying art to hopefully teach fora few years. She has three children, now all grown, and 2 grands. She shows, studied watercolor in private lessons with her Art Instructor of and 13 for many years. Presently she shows genes and takes commissions for 30 years. She is currently a member of the Washington Metropolitan Artists Society and the Hyattsville Community Arts Alliance. She was employed by PG Community College as an art instuctor in the SAGE program (senior adults growing through education).
Currently she is busy creating a micrschool, a homeschool/coop, as an alternative education experience, Artworks Academy of Fine Art pursueing her dream of teaching art to our youth school in a alternative education experience.
This is a dream she has had from the original seed of exploring studying art. She is in the process of creating a microschool homeschool/homeschool for ages 8-18.
