Artist Profile

Denise Marie began painting as a child in Philadelphia, Pa. and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Kutztown University. Denise paints primarily in oils,in a impressionistic style, depicting flowers, portraits,landscapes, skyscapes, waterscapes of images of her own photographs. A particular favorite is highlighting images with bright backgrounds and dark foregrounds. Denise also paints children at play, capturing a moment of favorite activity or joy. Painting for a group home catering to medically fragile children, Denise painted rooms for the children who are wheelchair or crib bound,with fanciful images of fairies and elves using acrylic paints. Murals with themes or a favorite scene have also been a favorite. "Beauty is healing to our spirits, a gift." Denise Marie has been serving as president of HCAA since 2010.
